Getting to Joy Street Studios

It's easy to get to Joy Street Studios using the !

From Lechmere on the Green Line

Take the 80, 87, or 88 bus and ask the driver to get off at the McGrath Highway and Poplar Street stop. When you get off the bus, Poplar Street is to your right. Walk two blocks to the intersection with Joy Street, where Poplar Street ends. Joy Street Studios is the large brick building directly across the street (the entrance is to your left).

To get back to Lechmere, the bus stop is on the other side of the highway, in front of the auto glass store.

From Sullivan Station on the Orange Line

Take the 86 or 91 bus and ask the driver to get off at the Washington Street and Tufts Street stop. Cross Washington St., walk under the railroad bridge, and make the first left onto Joy Street. If you pass Advanced Auto Parts, you've gone too far. Walk down Joy Street several blocks until the first intersection, Joy Street Studios will be on your left.

To get back to Sullivan, the bus stop is at the intersection of Joy Street and Washington St.

From other points in Cambridge and Somerville

• The 87 from Davis Square: Get off at the O'Brien Highway and Medford Street stop, walk under the highway and down Poplar St.
• The 91 from Central Square, and the 86 from Harvard Square: Get off at the Washington Street and Joy Street stop and walk down Joy Street.

By car

From Boston and South

I93 North to SULLIVAN SQ. exit #28. Left on Washington Street, past the Holiday Inn, under the RR underpass. Immediate left on to Joy Street; the studio building is on your right. OR take the McGrath/O'Brien highway to the Washington Street Exit. Go right on Washington Street one block to Joy Street. Go left. The studios are on the right toward the end of the block.

From the North

I93 South: exit 30 (RT-38 S) to Route 28. LEFT at the light (Mystic Avenue). Stay in the right lane to the McGrath (Rte 28). Take the Somerville Avenue Exit after Washington Street. You'll come up to a set of lights. Notice the highway turns left away from you with a blinking yellow at the foot of the ramp. Keep to the right of this ramp , drive under the highway and take an immediate left one block to Poplar Street. Joy Street is at the end. Turn left; the studios are on the right.

From Union Square

Proceed on Somerville Avenue: you'll see the McGrath highway at the end with Target on the right. The highway turns left away from you with a blinking yellow at the foot of the ramp: take the service road to the right under the highway. Straight to Chestnut St, take a left. In one block it becomes Joy Street.
